Yesterday
May 13 in
the city of Monterrey, Mexico, the
eyes of all soccer fans were on the match between local team the TIGRES against
the SANTOS Laguna. They played for a spot in the final against another team
from Monterrey, CF Rayados del Monterrey. If the Tigres were to prevail,
then for the first time the two teams from Monterrey City
will dispute the championship. A true historical fact! The cats were up on the
scoreboard from the opening minutes and soon were 2 to 0. In the environment you
could felt a final “regia”, the Facebook
"posts" were evident. Many thought that history was written ...
A few
moments before the clock strike the 90 minute mark, with scores of Oribe
Peralta at minutes 86 and 89 the unpredictable happen, SANTOS equalized; and because
Santos were higher in the standings, in case of a tie SANTOS would advance to the Mexican final. Nobody
could believe it, the tie had eliminated Tigres from contention!...
The teaching is that SANTOS’
players even within being a few minutes of elimination, what seemed like an
insurmountable two goal deficit, did what they had to do! Far from crumbling
and accepting defeat, fought with all their passion and determination and today
give us definite proof that even when all seems lost, the latest effort in the
last minute can make a difference... What a great lesson!...
